Face Detective

This watercolor worksheet helps beginner young learners recognise three facial features through supported listening and speaking. Children listen to the teacher, find and circle the matching features on a large face illustration, then say the words. No independent reading or writing is required. Includes a separate teacher page with classroom ideas, a listening script, an answer guide and accessible alternatives.

Target Vocabulary: Eyes, nose, mouth.

Activity:

  • Explore: Point to the pictured features and practise their names together.
  • Listen: The teacher says “Nose”, “Mouth” and “Eyes”, allowing time between words.
  • Circle: Circle the nose, the mouth and each eye separately.
  • Say: Point to the circled features and name them with teacher support.
  • Try another way: Point instead of circling, or use an erasable pen over a clear sleeve for repeated practice.

Learning Goal: To connect spoken words with facial features and build confidence in naming them.
