A hands-on listening and speaking worksheet for young learners using Super Minds Second Edition Level 1. Children listen to short descriptions and place three watercolour frog cards in two room panels. Includes a separate English teacher guide with two listening rounds, answer keys and supported alternatives.
Target Vocabulary
frog, frogs, bedroom, kitchen; one, two
Target Language
“There’s one frog in the bedroom.”
“There are two frogs in the kitchen.”
“There are two frogs in the bedroom.”
“There’s one frog in the kitchen.”
Activity
- An adult cuts out the three frog cards, leaving the room panels intact.
- Review the room pictures and numbers with teacher support.
- Listen and place the correct number of frogs in each room panel.
- Listen again, check and move cards if needed.
- Describe the completed arrangement.
- Remove all cards before starting the second listening round.
Learning Goal
Identify quantity and location in spoken sentences, then describe the resulting arrangement using singular and plural structures.
Teacher’s Insight
Each sentence gives the complete number of frogs for that room. Reset the cards between rounds so children do not treat the next description as an instruction to add more frogs. Keep cards movable for checking; independent reading and writing are not required.
