Clothes Listening Rows

A watercolour listening worksheet for Starter-level English learners. Children listen to a clothing word, circle the matching picture in each row and say the word. The picture-based task supports vocabulary recognition without independent reading or writing. Includes a separate teacher page with the listening script, answer key and accessible alternatives.

Target Vocabulary: hat, coat, scarf

Activity:

  • Review the three clothing words together.
  • Work through the worksheet one row at a time.
  • Listen to “Scarf” for the top row, “Hat” for the middle row and “Coat” for the bottom row.
  • Circle one matching picture in each row.
  • Point to the selected pictures and say their names.

Learning Goal: Recognise spoken clothing words and select the corresponding pictures.

Teacher’s Insight: Cover the lower rows when introducing the task. Children can place counters instead of circling, keeping the listening goal unchanged.
