Holiday Ideas Together

A speaking worksheet for young learners using Super Minds Second Edition Level 1. Children suggest holiday activities and respond using two reusable reply cards. Includes watercolour picture prompts and a separate English teacher guide with model dialogues and supported alternatives.

Target Vocabulary
eat ice cream, take a photo, look for shells

Target Language
Let’s eat ice cream.
Let’s take a photo.
Let’s look for shells.
Good idea.
Sorry, I don’t want to.

Activity

  • An adult cuts out the two response cards, leaving the picture board intact.
  • One learner points to a picture and makes a suggestion.
  • Their partner selects a card and says its reply.
  • After acceptance, learners may mime the activity.
  • After refusal, suggest a different pictured activity.
  • Swap roles and practise all three suggestions.

Learning Goal
Make suggestions, understand a partner’s response and practise accepting or politely declining an idea.

Teacher’s Insight
Replies are personal choices, so there is no fixed answer key and agreement is not compulsory. Model both response cards orally; independent reading and physical miming are not required.
