Can your partner hear which box you picked? In this counting game for kindergarten beginners, children turn a group of school objects into a secret clap code. Each picture gets one clap, so partners can check their guess by touching and counting together.
Target Vocabulary
chair, book, crayon, pencil · one, two, three, four
Activity
- Point to the pictures and name the objects together.
- Choose a box in secret. Clap once for each object in it.
- Your partner points to the box and says the number. Count together to check, then switch roles. For quiet play, raise fingers one at a time.
Learning Goal
Count up to four objects, giving each object one beat, and use the total to identify a group.
