Classroom Memory

This watercolor worksheet helps beginner young learners practise three classroom words through a cooperative memory game. Children turn over picture cards, find matching pairs and name each object with teacher support. No independent reading or writing is required. Includes six picture cards and a separate teacher page with preparation, speaking support and accessible alternatives.

Target Vocabulary: Pencil, book, chair.

Activity:

  • Prepare: The teacher prints the student page single-sided on opaque card and cuts out the six cards.
  • Explore: Look at the pictures and practise naming each object together.
  • Turn: Take turns turning over two cards and saying the object names.
  • Match: Leave matching pairs face up. Turn non-matching cards back over in the same positions.
  • Try another way: Keep all cards face up and find the pair matching a word spoken by the teacher.

Learning Goal: To strengthen recognition and recall of three classroom words while practising visual memory and turn-taking.
