Listen and Draw Lunch

A listening and drawing worksheet for beginner learners using Super Minds Second Edition Level 1. Children listen to short food descriptions, sketch three pretend lunches and describe their drawings. Includes a picture reference bank and a separate English teacher guide with a listening script, answer key and supported alternatives.

Target Vocabulary
apple, banana, sandwich, cheese

Target Language
“I’ve got an apple.”
“I’ve got a banana.”
“I’ve got a sandwich.”
“I’ve got cheese.”

Activity

  • Review the four food pictures with teacher support.
  • Listen to two sentences for each numbered plate.
  • Draw the two foods you hear, using the picture bank for support.
  • Listen again and check your drawings.
  • Pretend each plate is your lunch and describe it using “I’ve got…”.

Learning Goal
Understand familiar food words in short spoken sentences and communicate the contents of a pretend lunch.

Teacher’s Insight
Pause after each sentence and accept simple sketches. Check which foods children understood, rather than the quality, colour or size of their drawings. Children can point while an adult draws if needed.
