My Holiday Picture

A creative drawing and speaking worksheet for young learners using Super Minds Second Edition Level 1. Children choose two holiday activities, draw an imaginary holiday and describe what they can do. Includes watercolour picture prompts and a separate English teacher guide.

Target Vocabulary
eat ice cream, take a photo, look for shells

Target Language
I can eat ice cream on my holiday.
I can take a photo on my holiday.
I can look for shells on my holiday.

Optional partner response: You can … on your holiday.

Activity

  • Review the three action pictures with teacher support.
  • Mark the circles beside two chosen activities.
  • Draw yourself doing those activities in the large frame.
  • Point to your drawing and say one sentence for each activity.
  • A partner listens and points to the matching picture prompts.
  • Swap speaking and listening roles.

Learning Goal
Make creative choices and describe possibilities on an imagined holiday using familiar action phrases.

Teacher’s Insight
Two small scenes within the drawing frame are fine; the activities need not happen simultaneously. Accept simple sketches and check that spoken sentences match the selected activities. Independent reading, writing and previous travel experience are unnecessary.
