Count and Clap

This worksheet helps beginner young learners practise numbers one to five through counting and movement. Children point to each strawberry, count aloud and clap the total with teacher support. No independent reading, writing or numeral recognition is required. Includes a separate teacher page with classroom ideas, accessible alternatives and an answer key.

Target Vocabulary: One, two, three, four, five.

Activity:

  • Point: Touch each strawberry in a group once.
  • Count: Say one number for each strawberry, then repeat the total.
  • Clap: Clap that many times while counting together.
  • Take turns: Choose a group for a partner to count. Children can show fingers or tap instead of clapping.

Learning Goal: To connect spoken numbers with quantities from one to five and build confidence in counting aloud.
